The Army Seven's competition was held over two days on 15/16 May in Aldershot. The two day tournament was attended by 20 teams being the winners of the various regional and Corps competitions held during the preceding weeks.

The winners of the Cup competition were 3 Yorks(DWR) who claimed the trophy for the first time in over ten years by beating a talented 4 Regt RA team in the final. 3 Yorks displaced an under strength 1SCOTS (the holders since 2001) who found the going a little tough competing just days after returning from duty overseas.

'Man of the Tournament, voted by the ARU Sevens Committee was LCpl 'Bunny' Burenivalu 3 Yorks who excelled over both days and put in a skilful performance in the final'.
