The competition was split into three separate leagues, representing the various levels at which the teams play. In League one, the group stages were won by the RA and RLC. REME women with the Director of VT Land, Mr Stuart Cameron, winners women's 7s |
In the women's competition, all six sides played a full round robin format,
so by the time the REME and AMS met in the final, there were some
very tired bodies. The AMS went into the match as defending champions
and favourite, but could only manage a 5 -5 draw at full time. Playing
sudden death, the REME then raced away to score a fabulous try, and
claim the trophy. |
Mr Stuart Cameron, Director VT Defence Land Systems presented the prizes
to the winners, which included a trophy and cash prize to Signaller
Oakley, for winning the kicking competition.
The tournament marked a great start to he Corps season, with over
200 players involved. The quality of the matches were high, and all
were play in a good spirit.
The Corps season culminates in the finals day on Mar 7th 07, we hope
to see you there. |
