The Army Women's XV took on the Wales Development Squad for the 3rd Year.
This year's venue Rumney Rugby Club Cardiff, as per previous years the day
started bright and then the weather turned. Wales kicked off and then put
pressure on the Army side, with good passages of play from both sides, only
strong defence and skill kept the score level at half time.
The Army re-started and after some good passages of play and six penalties inside Wales 5m Line (Captain) LCpl Jessica Limbert scored in the corner. Wales then tried everything they could and attacked out wide making the Army scramble to defend their line. A well worked move int he centre of the Park
gave Spr Sarah Roper the chance to go under the post and converted by SSgt
Martina Ashton. With the match nearly over the Army had to work hard to
keep Wales out but this they did.
Final Score Wales 0 - Army 12.
The Girls now look to Wed 06 Apr 05 when they start their defence of the
Inter Service Title. All support welcome.
