The Army Rugby team reached the quarter finals of the prestigious Cobra Invitational 10's staged in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which featured 16 teams from around the world.

The Army were pitched in Group C, and did enough to qualify from the group beating STAROBA and the Aussie Legends, but narrowly losing to the Northshore Mavericks.

On the second day, the Army team lost to Marist, winners of Group D and the Western Samoa National team, by 7 points to 5. A missed a drop goal in the last minute of play would have been enough to carry them into the semis.

Marist went on to win the cup with ease, with the Army team the only side to score trys against them.

The competition has enabled the Senior XV to blood new players and introduce them to hard fast pressure rugby.
