The Army Women's Coaches Choice Team met in Aldershot on Wed 17 Nov to train before playing against the British Police Trial Squad in Wakefield. With only two players being selected from last years Inter Services Side, the coaches knew it would be an interesting few days.

Not knowing what to expect from the Police and only having a short period of time together the Coaches went for a quality, rather than quantity training, to ensure the girls stayed fresh. Training went well with the team adapting to the style of play ahead.

Thursday loomed and having lost one player to injury the Team travelled to Wakefield. Unfortunately, the weather couldn't decide what it wanted to do and therefore the journey took longer than normal.

The first game was the North Police v South Police. Next, and with the conditions deteriorating the Army took on the North Police. The Police started the stronger, however after a short period the Army got into their game and under the direction of Coach Sgt Dale Jefferies struck back with a well worked try. The result however went in favour of the North. The Army then played the South Police who again put in a strong performance. However this time with the Army gaining strength and working together, proved to be by far the stronger side. The Army Team despite the conditions worked well together and enjoyed the day and the challengers it brought.
