Final Score ARMY U21s 22-10 NAVY U21s.
As has been said before - "A game of 2 halves", as the Army hosted the Navy in the first of the tri-services under 21s games.
On what started as a bright warm autumn's day in Aldershot both teams came out to prove a point and the first half couldn't have been tighter. With the Army missing the opportunity to take the early lead the Navy seemed to step up a gear to put the first points on the board with a well worked try.
Not to be outdone the Army responded, as they have done so often this season, by taking the game to the opposition. A well-fought battle ended at the half time whistle with the score 12-10 to the Army.
Some Inspirational words from the team coach at the interval saw the Army come out with the bit between their teeth and soon the ball was over the try line - 17-10 Army. All was not rosy in the second half as the Navy showed what they are capable of by stepping up a gear and combined with some missed tackles saw both sets of supporters on the edge of their seats. However, unlike in the past the Army rear guard held strong.
Following the sin binning of one of the Navy players the Army failed to capitalise on the one man advantage however, it was a turning point in the match as it meant that the Navy could not retaliate to the Army's latest try.
With some inspirational play from the Army backs, and some unfortunate handling errors from the Navy, the game finished with a better score than maybe the Army expected but in truth the players deserved the result.
