Army Rugby President, General Sir Peter Wall, formally opened the RFU Coaching Centre at SEAE Arborfield on 15 October. After being briefed by ARU Director of Coaching Col Allan Thomson and Coaching Coordinator WO2 Taff Bamsey on the wide ranging benefits of a single focus for Army coaching the President unveiled the highly regarded 'Red Rose' plaque. Present at the ceremony was DEME(A), Brig Brian McCall, the Army's 'most experienced' and senior serving rugby international.
A coaching demonstration by the SEAE club and WO2 Jimmy Quinn ended with an impromptu 'durbar' where the President called for 'ideas'. Training lights was the 'top' call-now that's a very bright thought to illuminate a dark November night.
Coaching courses and other details can be seen on the Coaching page.
