Corporal Sarah Mitchelson (Team Captain) - Royal

This is Sarah’s first season as Captain for the Army Ladies,
Sarah was formally Vice-Captain. Sarah has been playing rugby since
she was 16 yrs old and her first club was Oakham RFC. Career highlights
include Super 4’s, England U18’s and 1 game for England
A. She is currently captain for Combined Services and at present is
playing her club rugby for London Wasps Ladies. Her personal aim for
the season is to lead the team to a highly successful and enjoyable
season. In Sarah’s spare time she enjoys socializing and housework
and is an avid Leicester Tigers fan. Sarah married Mitch last year.

Sergeant Kerry Fitzpatrick -

Position: Scrum Half/Fly Half
Inter Service caps : 5
Combined service caps: 2
This is Kerry’s first season back since a career threatening
ACL knee injury. Kerry has been playing rugby since 2004 and her previous
clubs include Salisbury and Chesham, she went on to captain Salisbury
and has also captained at corps level in 2009. Her personal aim this
season is to regain her confidence and ability, and to wear the red
jersey and play on the most important day of the season Army Navy
day. In the future Kerry is hoping to be posted back to the U.K. from
Germany so she can become Assistant Secretary for the AMS and gain
coaching courses. In Kerry’s spare time she likes to socialize
and walk her dog.

Claire or ‘Lofty’ as she’s known so affectionately
by her team mates and friends has been playing for the Army ladies
since 2006. Her previous club was Salisbury before moving to Bristol
Ladies even though she is a massive Bath fan. Lofty is her corps
vice-captain and has currently been having to fill the captains’
boots while she was away on Operational Tour. Lofty’s personal
aim for the season is to gain some weight, tone up and improve fitness
so she can play a better game and also to have a bigger impact in
the game. In her spare time Lofty likes to chill out with friends
and family, take random road trips and has a keen fascination with
old style mini’s and VW camper vans as long as she’s
not on guard or exercise.

Position: Fullback/Outside Centre

Combined service caps: 1
Jolandi or 'JoJo' hails from Transvaal, South Africa and has been playing since 2006. Her previous club was Rheda-Wiedenbruck before joining London Wasps and has been playing for her corps team since 2006. Her aim of the season is to get super fit, play tactical rugby, be a positive player and have the best season of her life. In her free time JoJo enjoys a wide variety of sports which include swimming, running and sky-diving. She also enjoys socializing, spending time with family and friends and loves to travel. JoJo is also a keen follower of the Blue Bulls.

Position: Hooker /Back Row
Rae started playing in 2007 and is one of the newest players on the team this season. She's played for Reading ladies and has played 2 games for Mosely. She also represents her corps and has played in Army league. Her personal aim for the season is to improve as a flanker and gain more experience playing as a Hooker. In her free time Rae likes to travel back to Cornwall, socialize and watch Family Guy. She also loves a nice packet of pickled onion monster munch.

Captain Stephanie Harris - Royal Artillery

Position: Prop, Lock/Backrow
Stephanie has been playing rugby since 2003 and her previous teams include Alcester and Morpeth and has also represented the North East region in 2007-08 season. She is currently the Captain for her corps team and is the teams secretary and also taken upon being a stand in President as the current president is on operational tour. This is Stephanie's first season with the Army team and hope to gain her first Army Cap this year. Her personal aim for the season is to trial and play North East Rugby. Stephanie's interests include snowboarding, horse-riding-eventing, scuba diving and hockey.

Position: Back Row/Wing
It's Tara's first season with the ARUW and is developing into an integral part of the squad. She plies her trade with North Tawton after previously playing for Tavistock Ladies. Tara's aim is to keep progressing in the manner she is, improving on her passing and concept of the game culminating in an inter-service cap. Tara enjoys downhill biking.

Elaine is one of our two Scrum Halves she was born in Hong Kong and
has been brought up around the Sevens circuit, Sevens being her passion.
Elaine has made a conscious effort to improve on her passing this
year which has made for a very interesting tussle with the other scrum
half. Her ambitions are receive another Combined Services and to assist
in developing the Army Women's sevens team to a successful maiden
season. |
Major Charlotte Maxwell - Adjutant General's Corps

Position: Prop

Combined service caps: 2
Known to her friends as 'Charley'. Charley is a vital part of a front row that has been laden with injuries this year. Ever present even though she has now been posted to Cyprus Charley played for Saracens before her overseas tour. Her solid scrumaging and consistency at the break down gives us a good platform to launch our attacks. Her low sense of gravity and aggressive running make her one the hardest individuals to tackle.

Position: Wing/Centre/Fullback
Carrie is another new player into the fold this season. Currently residing in Germany Caz is unable to play civilian rugby, however it is evident that she goes out and works on her individual skills as she seems to improve every time we meet. Caz possesses a selection of natural skills that hold her in good stead for the future. Her aim is to break into the Inter-Service squad and culminate in a first cap. She also is keen to return to the UK in order to play regular civilian rugby.

Position: Back Row/Hooker

Emma has been playing competitive rugby for 11 years now and is currently
the Captain of her Corps, she plays her civilian rugby for Cheltenham
ladies. Having started her rugby for the Army at Lock she now plays
in the Back Row or Hooker. Emma enjoys standing in The Shed shouting
"GLOUCESTER GLOUCESTER" being a keen Cherry and whites supporter.
In her spare time she likes to cruise the countryside in her convertible
and expressed an interest to trying pig farming. |

Emille has been playing rugby since 2003 and her previous clubs include
the University of Birmingham, Oxford RFC and Camberley and is currently
playing for Bath ladies RFC Emille has been playing for the Army since
2007. Her personal aim of the season is to improve and become more
consistent in her kicking and to play in the inter-services fixtures.
In Emilles spare time she enjoys training her new black Labrador puppy
in picking up and retrieving!! Walking and mountain biking, Emille
is a supporter of Leicester Tigers. |

Caroline has been playing rugby since 2005, her previous club was Salisbury and is a permanent fixture on the REME side. Caroline has been playing for the Army since the 08/09 season. Her personal aim for the season is too improve enough so she can play Combined Services and play one more full season before she retires!! In Caroline's spare time she enjoys spending it with her children, and organizing the Gumpathon which is a charity run from one side of America to the other. Caroline is also a keen baker having made cakes for the team and people's birthdays in all Caroline is the matriarch of the team!! Caroline is married to Craig.

Rosie has been playing rugby since the age of 18 and her previous clubs include Reading, Leicester and Stoneygate and she is currently playing for London Wasps. Rosie has been Captain of her corps team for the past two seasons. Rosie's aim of the season is to keep working on her fitness, carry on training/playing for Wasps and regularly start. She also wants to attend HPA's and be selected for super 4's, so good luck Rosie!! In her spare time Rosie enjoys Skiing and watching Rugby.

Kelly has been playing since the age of 19 and her previous clubs
include Sandhurst, Richmond. Kelly has been playing for the Army since
2006. She is currently playing for Litchfield and plays for AGC corps
and is currently captain. Her personal aim for the season is to start
every game including inter-services and to improve as a player. In
Kelly's spare time she enjoys socializing, reading, going to the cinema,
sampling food and wine and chilling with her friends. |
Corporal Carice Allen - Intelligence Corps

Position: Wing
Inter Service caps : 15
Combined service caps: 3
Carice has been playing since 1995 and her previous clubs were Whitchurch
and the University of Manchester and has had previous regional commitment
including playing for Shropshire and the East of England. She is currently
playing for Olney. Carice has played for the Army since 2003 and has
represented The Riyal Signals and AGC at corps level. Carice's personal
aim of the season is to be selected for the army squad and play in
the Inter-Services. In Carice's spare time she enjoys travelling,
where last year she participated in a work placement holiday working
with animals such as lions, monkeys and other various African animals.

Position: Number 8
Fiona has been playing rugby since 2001, and her previous clubs include Royal High Corstorphine and Watsonians and has had previous international commitment with Scottish Students. Fiona is currently playing for Eastleigh Trojans and is representing the RLC at corps level. Fiona's personal aim for the season is to be selected and maintain a position within the Army team. Fiona is currently enjoying being back in the UK after being posted over in Germany and is a fully qualified AFF Sky-diver.

Position: 2nd Row/Back Row
Inter Service caps : 1
Gemma is currently secretary for the Royal Engineers who are affiliated
to the Royal Signals, for whom she plays her Corps rugby. She’s
currently plays her club rugby at Guildford. Gemma received her first
cap for the Army against the RAF last year. Since joining her new
club she has a new found confidence, which has culminated in a re-call
to the Army women’s senior XV. Gemma’s ambitions are to
receive as many inter-service caps and eventually lead to a combined
services start. In her spare time Gemma is a keen Skier. |
Major Kathryn Woods - Queens Royal Army Nursing Corps

Position: Prop/Backrow

Combined service caps: 2
Kathryn or 'Kat' to her colleagues and friends is the current vice-captain after relinquishing the captains job last season, after two successful seasons culminating in successful inter-services victories on tour in New Zealand. Kat plays her club rugby for Olney and in her early career received an England A cap. Kats dogged determination and direct running with ball in hand makes her one of the hardest female players to tackle. She also processes a unique style of tackling. In her spare time Kat enjoys walking Brecon Beacons with her partner Baz.

Position: Fullback/Wing
Katie returns to the Army team after having a year off following the birth of her daughter Lyra. Katie currently has no club side after her Salisbury for whom she played for 3yrs disbanded. Katie's number 1 rugby passion is rugby league and supports Leeds Rhinos. Katie is a utility back who is able to play anywhere from flyhalf to fullback. Her strengths are without a doubt her defense and has expressed her desire in the future to move to wing forward. In her spare time Katie is thoroughly enjoying being a 1st time mum and is looking forward to the enjoyment of watching her daughter grow.

Bombardier Laura Latimer - Royal Artillery

Position: Backrow
Laura hails from bonnie Scotland. She started her rugby playing career
at Salisbury and is a regular in the Gunners corps team. Laura is
still developing her game and is keen to improve her ball carrying
and contact techniques. Laura likes to carry the ball and has the
potential to make a very useful go-forward number 8. In Laura’s
spare time she likes to socialize with her friends and travel home
to see her family. |

Position: Centre/Wing
Inter Service caps : 2
Combined service caps: 1
Dani has now been playing Army rugby for 2 yrs and has fast become an important member of the team. She has played club rugby at Reading and Salisbury and is now playing for Olney. Dani started the season playing corps rugby for the REME and played for them in the final but is now an AGC player. Dani's strengths are by far her blistering pace and her textbook tackling. Dani has moved from the wing to the centres where she is adapting nicely to her new role. In her spare time Dani enjoys spending time with family and friends and enjoys going to the gym and fitness.
