Notice of Hearing
- Where a Player has been sent off, the Chairman of Discipline
for the ARU will complete and forward as soon as possible, and
preferably no later than 7 days from the receipt of the Referee’s
Report, a Notice of Hearing that will include details of:
- the specific Charge; and
- the date, time and place appointed for the hearing:
- The player will be asked in the Notice of Hearing:
- Whether he accepts that he committed the offence specified
in the Referee’s Report and wishes to plead guilty,
and if so whether he wishes to be dealt with in his absence
(provided that the Notice of Hearing has not indicated that
he must attend a hearing); or
- Whether he disputes the allegations and wishes the Referee
(or Touch Judge in appropriate cases) to be invited to attend.
Note that in all cases, the Chairman of Discipline does seek
the attendance of the referee.
- Players are to ensure they have read and fully understand
the RFU Rules and Disciplinary Procedures these are available
on the RFU official website www.rfu.com
or the ARU website (www.aru.org.uk).
- The Notice of Hearing shall be accompanied by a copy of the
Referee’s Report.
- The Notice of hearing shall advise a player that he should have
available any evidence he wishes to call and his attention must
be specifically directed to these regulations
- The actual hearing will be held in accordance with RFU procedures.
