Premiership Cup Information

The Premiership Cup Competition (formerly known as the 'Army Cup') is run under the auspices of the Community Rugby Committee (Competitions sub-Committee) of the ARU.

2nd Bn Royal WelshIn a cracking final at Aldershot on 17 Mar 10, 2nd Bn Royal Welsh beat the 1st Bn Welsh Guards 31-26 to become this years Premiership Cup winners.

The Competition is only open to units affiliated to the ARU. Competitor teams are organised into four leagues. Current rules and regulations can be found on the Premiership Cup Rules page.

ARU Premiership - 2010-2011
The 2010-2011 ARU Premiership will be contested by 14 unit sides. This will be the biggest Premiership competition ever and promises to be a high level of rugby. With last season’s winner, 2 Royal Welsh and the previous season’s winner 1 Scots, now back from operations we are guaranteed some excellent rugby. The competition will have two leagues of seven teams that will play each other in a round robin of matches. This will be followed by the knock out stages early next year with the finals scheduled for March 16th at Aldershot. The teams for this coming season are: 2 Royal Welsh, 17 P&M Regt RLC, 12 Regt RA, 1 PWRR, 1 Rifles, 19 Regt RA, 3 Yorks, 1 WG, 23 Pioneer RLC, 4 Regt RA, 2 PWRR, 1 Scots, ARRC Sup Bn & 2 Rifles.

¥ - Match not played and points handed to non-withdrawing side

Four points are awarded for a win, two for a draw and one for a loss. Bonus points are also be awarded for either losing by seven points or less (i.e. a side loosing 13-20 would be awarded a bonus point) , one point, for a team scoring four or more tries in a match, one point.
